At 7 weeks, Buddy is as good a baby as ever. If he cries, I've figured out it is almost always because he is tired. He is consistently sleeping 12 hour nights in his own room with feedings every 4 to 5 hours. He's a good nurser and is filling out 6 month clothes! He doesn't spit up much or seem to have too many problems with digestion (unless mommy drinks entirely too much milk - then he has a lot of reflux). His eyes are still dark blue. His hair still stands straight up, though might be starting to lay a little more to one side than the other. His baby acne is clearing up.
He's starting to be really interactive - smiles a lot and coos a little. He is reaching for toys. He loves Sophie the Giraffe, his new blue elephant, and nothing is better than his mobile. When he's on his changing table he automatically looks up for me to pull the fish pull toy that hangs over his head and plays music. He likes his play mat and really likes having a toy he can kick. And, I let Geoff cut his hair around his ears already - just around the ears - and I think it looks so handsome!
At 18 months, Evie is full of gusto. She is like a baby torpedo or something - it's hard to describe how she just literally THROWS herself into everything. She talks ALL the time and is saying lots and lots of words, even some small sentences. She is incredibly impatient and is already throwing fits with the best of them. She still hasn't cut any of her canine teeth. We haven't cut her hair yet because I don't trust her to sit still - the soft curls are in layers in the back so it looks intentional. She is delightful and funny and she refuses to be ignored as a middle child.
Claire will be 3 in just a few more weeks, and she definitely has the 3 year old thing down already. She wants to do everything herself. She is a helpful child and very sweet, but she is definitely testing her boundaries. She talks constantly and has an enormous vocabulary, though she is struggling with several consonants and mommy tends to be the only one who can interpret some of what she says. She is still very petite, but undoubtably growing like a weed. I'm looking forward to see how she measures up at the doctor in a few weeks. She is starting to sing a bunch of songs now, especially Twinkle Star, and her favorite thing in the world is playing hide and seek with her daddy. Oh - and I'm not leaving her out of pictures on purpose - she just hasn't wanted me to take them lately.
