So the girls are four months and twenty months, and precious as can be. I can't think of too much to report. Due to all of the recent illness in our family, we haven't been back to the doctor for the official weight/length on Evelynn, and not much has changed for Claire either. Evie can roll from her back to her front and is pretty close to being able to sit up. She likes the jumperoo but doesn't know how to jump in it yet, despite mine and Claire's many attempts to show her how to. She laughs now - it's adorable! We think her personality is very different than Claire's. Claire seems to be one who will throw herself into anything new with a boldness like her Daddy's; Evelynn, we think, will be a bit more cautious like her mother. Evie is good at holding things - rattles and toys and such. She also could be an early crawler; put her on her tummy and she will use her legs to propel herself a good distance (now if she could just figure out what to do with her arms!)
Claire is still into books - and is getting more open to reading new ones every day. She also still loves to draw, and knows how to draw a circle, which I think is just amazing! She is good at working puzzles - we are already trying our first jigsaws. We are working more on letter recognition; she's got a bunch of them down pretty well. When you ask Claire to count she points to each item and says "two" over and over, as if it is the only number out there. Claire likes order - Geoff will mismatch a top and bottom of an easter egg and Claire will undo them and match the colors. She still would rather be outside than anywhere in the world, which has been tough since we have been sick just about half of the past month.
There is probably so much more I could say about both girls, but that's all I have time for tonight. They are growing, they are wonderful, they are everything anyone could wish for in two little girls.
Claire likes to play with Evie in Evie's crib. We are trying to figure out how to transition Evie into Claire's old crib in Claire's room (and therefore out of our room). Suggestions from others are welcome!

A few Easter goodies
Daddy cut Claire's hair. She has great hair, but it is a little thin. We are hopeful that a trim or two will help it to thicken up a bit. Geoff was pretty proud of how well her haircut turned out, and he had good reason to be because it looks great. Claire was a very good patron of Dad's Salon.

Gotta love Claire's outfit - rainboots and training pants (worn over a diaper). We are trying to follow her lead on potty training. She was super interested for a few days and it went well. Then came an out of town trip and everyone getting sick. I have to go out of town one more time in a few weeks, but think that as soon as we return, we will start potty training in earnest. We're ready! (or as ready as we're going to be)
This is what I think of when I think of my second-born. She is just a happy little girl - smiles and laughter abound. I call Claire my sunshine. Evie Jane is my delight. I can now make her giggle which is about the best thing I have ever gotten to experience!
Looks like the Peels will definitely have another brown-eyed girl by the way. Her eyes are super dark and beautiful. Her hair appears to be staying dark as well. Claire's was already much lighter at this age, and had mostly fallen out and was coming back in.
Claire is getting to be more and more of a "big" girl. A new high chair, a big girl bed, big girl haircut, and soon, big girl potty. I'm trying not to push her to be older than she is just because I have another little one right behind her - this is a challenge! But luckily, Claire has always been a driven little girl and she seems to be adjusting to big sisterhood quite easily.

Evie in the exersaucer - she has also gotten to try out the jumperoo - both helpful tools to a mommy whose arms get so tired from holding her all day! She is wearing a hat made by her Grandaunt Kathy. (Just learned that this is the proper term, not Great Aunt). Claire has one too and both girls look ADORABLE in them.
Claire is my hat girl - she LOVES to wear hats and pats her head as a sign that she needs one please. :)
